Overview
The Wardick is a fish-type Zoid developed by the Zenebas Empire during the Central Continent War. It was designed with a pressure-resistant body capable of withstanding water pressure at depths up to 12,000 m.
Equipped with a new high-power unit that surpassed conventional small Zoid power systems, the Wardick possessed three times the combat strength of comparable machines. Compared to the Republic’s Barrigator, the mainstay underwater Zoid at the time, the Wardick surpassed it in armor, weaponry, and diving capabilities, making it unmatched in underwater combat during its era.
Although capable of limited land operation, its combat effectiveness decreased outside aquatic environments.
During the First Intercontinental War, the Guylos (Dark Army) also continued to operate Wardicks. After the ZAC 2056 Planet Zi disaster nearly wiped them out, the Guylos military revived their numbers by applying the Organoid System in a limited way to accelerate Zoid Core division. Wardicks returned to the frontlines in ZAC 2101, surpassing the Republic’s Hammerhead in underwater combat and playing a role throughout the Dark Continent War.
Later, the Neo Zenebas Empire also deployed Wardicks, outfitting them with Chimera Block control capabilities. These units formed ocean defense formations in the Deldaros Sea until ZAC 2104, each Wardick commanding three Diploguns.
Weapons & Equipment
- Sonic Blaster (Old/New): Mouth-mounted. An underwater weapon — due to sound traveling better in water, evasion is extremely difficult.
- Medium-Caliber Beam Cannons: Back-mounted. Effective against surface targets.
- Anti-Ship Missile Launcher (Old) / AZ Missile Launcher (New): Back-mounted. Effective against facilities and flying Zoids.
- Main Propulsion Engine(s): Installed behind the medium-caliber beam cannons.
- Hydrojet Nozzles: Mounted on the sides of the lower body.
- Pressure-Resistant Cockpit: Specialized pilot chamber for deep-sea operation.
- Radar: Located on the dorsal fin.
Kits
The first kit in the series to use a large wind-up = Hi-Power Unit. With wind-up power, it uses its pectoral fins and pelvic fins as legs to walk. In addition, as an interlocking gimmick, it has a mechanism that swings its multi-jointed tail from side to side, and in water, this tail generates forward propulsion by pushing water, allowing it to actually swim. In order to obtain buoyancy during swimming, the propulsion main engine on its back contains a styrofoam float. Manual gimmicks are the opening and closing of the cockpit (head, rear hinge) and the opening and closing of the lower jaw.

In-Story Activity
Battle Story
- In ZAC 2041, it participated in the Valesia Bay landing operation.
It torpedoed an Ultra Saurus moored in the harbor, and by attacking from the deep sea it was able to deliver one-sided results without being detected by the enemy【45】.
- In December, ZAC 2044, at the battle of Cook Naval Base, it allowed Republic forces disguised as icebergs to approach, and machines moored in the naval port were destroyed together with the Sea Panzers【50】.
- It also destroyed a Salamander that was closing in on a Dimetrodon through ambush and surprise attack【51】.
- In May, ZAC 2045, during the battle of the Floresio Sea, together with Brachios it destroyed a Republic fleet consisting of Floresios, Aquadons, and Barrigators.
However, this was a trap prepared by the Republic side using unmanned Zoids to lure the Imperial fleet away from the harbor.
In the end, it suffered a major blow from Pteras and Ultra Saurus equipped with tracking underwater torpedoes for anti-Wardick use, and control of the sea area also came into the hands of the Republic【52】.
- In March, ZAC 2101, revived by the Organoid System, machines deployed to the Guylos Empire launched an attack on the Republic-occupied Nixie Base【53】.
- In June of the same year, it was active in the Undersea Battle and other conflicts【54】.
Anime
- In *Zoids: New Century/Slash Zero*, machines of Team Fuma, belonging to the Backdraft Group, appeared in episodes 10 and 21.
- In episode 22, a gold-colored machine owned by Harry Champ appeared.

In episode 21, the three non-Fuma machines were modified into Neo-Wardick by Dr. Raon. Externally they looked the same as the normal type, but they were equipped with E-Shields and beam guns capable of freely altering their trajectories. They cornered Team Blitz, but were defeated by the Shadow Fox equipped with a Long Range Buster Cannon impulsively purchased by Dr. Torres.
