A Dimetrodon-type Zoid developed by the Zenebas Empire Army in the early Central Continent War to counter the Gordos . Because the Gordos was easy to find due to its large size, the Gator was designed as a small mass-production unit to compensate for the performance difference with sheer numbers . It has a large dorsal fin that houses a radar, and it specializes in various electronic warfare tasks . It also incorporates a Magnesser system, allowing for high-speed movement by gliding . However, it sacrifices its armament for radar performance, making it poor at direct Zoid combat . It was retired from the front lines around ZAC 2044-2046 during the Central Continent War . From the Western Continent War period onward (ZAC 2099~), its radar was enhanced, and it was operated by the Guylos Empire Army . Later, it was also introduced by Neo Zenebas and used as a command unit for small-scale Chimera Blox operations .

The dorsal fin part of the Gator. This allows it to perform tasks such as communication jamming, forced reconnaissance , and intelligence interception .

Its power source is a small wind-up power unit. It drives each of its four integrated-molded limbs and moves forward with a simple four-legged walking gimmick. However, unlike other four-legged wind-up Zoids, the leg links are in a diagonal relationship (right front leg - left rear leg, left front leg - right rear leg), and the legs in each pair are completely fixed to each other. Manual gimmicks include the rotation of the back-mounted gatling beam gun, the head's left-right movement, and the opening and closing of the cockpit hatch (head, rear hinge).

Released in September 1984. The color scheme is deep red and silver.

Released in October 1999. The color scheme is purplish blue and gunmetal. It was also released as an overseas version by Hasbro, where its product name was “#022 Gatordus.”

Released in late November 2006. A set of five units: Marder, Molga, Gelder, Zattun, and Gator.

Limited sale at the “Wonder Festival 2008 ” event venue. Some of its parts were molded from a phosphorescent material.

Featured in Zoids Official Fan Book Vol. 2. A special-purpose Gator for long-term solitary information gathering in enemy territory . The small-bore gatling beam gun has been replaced with a 3D radar dome, and the dorsal fin serves as a heat sink to prevent overheating . It is painted in a brown camouflage to hide in deserts and forests. Its first appearance was as a custom build example in the magazine “Comic GOTTA.” At the time, in addition to the above, it was described as having travel pods and anti-personnel machine guns on its abdominal sides, and jamming pods and filtered intakes for desert warfare on the front of its fins .

One of the variations featured on the back of the EMZ-14 Gator package. It is painted in camouflage colors for performing vigilance near heavily forested borders and for gathering intelligence by infiltrating Republic territory .

One of the variations featured on the back of the EMZ-14 Gator package. In place of the All-Weather 3D Radar on its back, it is equipped with a more powerful 360° rotating radar. The entire body is painted with dark sea gray radar-absorbent paint, allowing it to operate undetected by enemy radar . It specializes in ECM, ECCM, and early warning, but due to its poor production efficiency and maintainability, only one or two units were produced .

Featured in the February 1985 issue of the Shogakukan magazine, Shogaku San-nensei. A type with its back antenna changed to a circular ammunition drum . It can also be seen accompanying a Bullstein on page 5 of Zoid Battle Story Vol. 1, though it is not named .

A Gator operated by the Dark Army during the First Intercontinental War era. It is characterized by its black and green colors, and its electronic warfare capabilities are enhanced.

Featured in Dengeki Hobby Magazine. This custom model provides combat enhancements for anti-Zoid warfare for the Gator, which is rarely used in direct combat on the front lines. The laser cannon, linked with GPS, boasts high firing accuracy. It is one of the unreleased designs for customization parts .
