Overview
The Orudios is a Pegasus-type Zoid of the Helic Republic[15]. The original design was created by Republic Air Force Captain Graham, and completed by Colonel Tommy Mueller[17]. It was developed as a countermeasure against Gilvader, and incorporates the latest Republic technology throughout[16].
Although the Helic Republic’s image colors were traditionally based on blue and white, red was used for Orudios to signify resolve[18].
It incorporates Zoid Core genetic recombination technology introduced in the late Central Continent War[19], fusing a horse-type Zoid[注 3]with a dragon-type Zoid from the Dark Continent using biotechnology, creating a synthetic beast-type Zoid[18]. It is also said to possess the ability to fly freely through time and space[21], though no concrete explanation or depiction exists.
While it boasted performance that far surpassed ordinary Zoids, it also had the drawback of a short-lived Zoid Core[19]. The Planet Zi Great Catastrophe of ZAC 2056 caused the loss of Zoid Core fusion technology[19][18][注 4].
Armament & Equipment
- Thunder Blade – Mounted on the head. A weapon that feeds back from Magnazer technology[22].
A melee weapon made of ultra-hard alloy capable of cutting through even the thickest armor.
It can also generate powerful electromagnetic energy, shorting out and destroying enemy Zoid internal electronic circuits[16].
- Missile Pods – Four installed in the abdomen.
- Acceleration Shock Guns – Two mounted in the abdomen. Twin beam cannons that fire high-energy beams, capable of destroying multiple targets in succession[16][注 5].
- Great Busters – Mounted on both sides of the body. Electromagnetic energy absorbed by the wings[16][15]is amplified by the internal system and fired as high-energy beam cannons[16].
They possess enough power to destroy even a Deathsaurer in one shot[24].
- Active Radars – Located in the ears.
- Cooling Radiators – Installed in the abdomen.
- High-Mobility Boosters – Mounted on the legs.
- Metal Protectors – Mounted on the legs. Protect the machine from impacts during high-speed combat and block Dark Energy Waves[16].
- Power Connector – Mounted on the back. Allows installation of compatible grade-up units.
- Power Wings – The main wings enabling Orudios to fly using gravity control and the Magnéssar System[16].
When using the Great Buster, they are employed to absorb electromagnetic energy[16].
Thanks to the effect of this new wing design, Orudios is capable of turning at twice the speed of Gilvader[16].
- Super Stabilizer – Located on the tail. Supports maneuverability during rapid turns, whether in ground or aerial combat[16].
Kits (Orudios)
RPZ-18 Orudios Released in 1990. The kit’s neck, wings, and Great Busters move in conjunction with walking, but can be stopped by a pose switch. There are differences between the horns, head, leg protectors, and wing shapes shown in package/advertisement photos and the actually released product. A Grade-Up Unit can be equipped on the back, which also links to the Eye Flasher. The wings deploy up and down but cannot flap. The forelegs have movable elbow and ankle joints, while the hind legs have solid-molded heels. The mouth, tail up/down, and cockpit open/close functions are all manual. The internal body caps press vertically on the root of the tail to increase joint-holding strength.
Zoids Graphics Extra Issue EX.2 Orudios Released in 2008 as a reissue version. Packaged together with a special commentary book, *Zoids Graphics*. Differences from the original version include:
- The battery box being changed to a screw-fastened specification.
- The gold ratio of plated parts such as the protectors was reduced, making them a paler color.
(They are prone to fading, eventually turning silver over time.)
Overseas Version Released abroad under the *TECHNO ZOIDS* series with the product name EVIL PEGASUS. The molding colors were changed:
- White parts were changed to black.
- Blue parts were changed to gray.
- Overall color scheme became black, red, and gray.
In-Story Activity (Orudios)
Zoids Battle Story (Shogakukan) Appears in *New Zoids Battle Story*. In June, ZAC 2054, during the Dark Army’s Gilvader Central Continent bombing operation, the prototype No. 1 unit piloted by Republic Air Force Lieutenant Kruger engaged Gilvader in battle over the Dark Continent. The predicted chance of victory was said to be only 1%[25][注 6]. However, by targeting the pilot — said to be Gilvader’s only weakness — Kruger succeeded in driving the Thunder Blade into the cockpit. The automatic ejection system activated, allowing Kruger to survive, but Orudios, which had crashed and become immobile, was ordered to self-destruct to prevent it from being displayed as a trophy by the Dark Army. At that time, Kruger thought, *“Orudios understands the feelings of its pilot.”*
This demonstrated that the Republic had found a means of countering the previously undefeated Gilvader. Furthermore, by spreading false information that 500 Orudios units had been deployed, the Republic forced the iron-willed Emperor of Guylos to abandon his Central Continent offensive[25].
Battle Story (Product Package Version) In ZAC 2056, a squadron of Orudios tasked with the mission of rescuing Zenebas defeated enemy forces in the Devil Maze region and reached Darkness, the Guylos Empire’s capital. They attempted the rescue operation but engaged in combat with Dark Army forces centered around Ice Blazer and Gun Gyarados[28].
Zoids Battle Story (School Magazine Version) In this version, Orudios is depicted shooting its Great Buster and Thunder Blade, bringing Gilvader down. However, upon descent it was counterattacked, placed in a desperate situation, and only escaped thanks to the intervention of God Kaiser[29].

Orudios Marine
Name | Orudios Marine |

Affiliation | Helic Republic |
Classification | Pegasus-type |
Published in Shogakukan’s *Shougaku Ninensei* (Elementary School 2nd Grade), August and September 1990 issues. This machine was modified for underwater specialization, with its main wings replaced by manipulator-like equipment.
It guarded the Republic Army’s secret undersea base, where it defeated the underwater-use Deathsaurer, Death Deps[30]. Afterward, however, it was struck by Gun Gyarados’s flamethrower, allowing an enemy breakthrough, during which King Gojulas was activated[31].
