A bird-type Zoid of the Helic Republic Army that had been in operation since the 1960s, ZAC [125]. It possessed light maneuverability and was also used for reconnaissance and communication [123], as well as by civilians [18]. Although small, it had excellent close-quarters combat capabilities [124]. Its participation in combat was confirmed during the early stages of the Central Continent War, from around ZAC 2018 to 2029 [126], but by ZAC 2030 to 2038, it was already retired from the front lines [18]. The Pegasus is a developed version of the Glidoler. It has not been seen since the great cataclysm on Planet Zi in ZAC 2056, which caused the extinction of many Zoids [note 2].

Armament and Equipment

The technical data includes descriptions of a Beam Vulcan, Booster Rocket, and Anti-Air Missiles [123] [note 21], but the mounting locations are unknown.

Kit

RMZ-02 Glidoler

Released in 1983. Its power source is a small wind-up power unit. It is characterized by its massive legs, which resemble the floats of a seaplane and are said to be its booster rockets, and its disproportionately small wings. It moves on wheels while its legs and wings move up and down. Its frame was reused for the Pegasus.

Helic Memorial Box 1983

Released on July 28, 2006. A set of five Zoids: Aqudon, Elephantus, Gallius, Grantula, and Glidoler.

Glidoler Variations

Orochi-Type Mech

Featured in the book, “All About Combat Mechanical Beasts.” This version was created exclusively for use in wetlands [127]. It is characterized by having multiple neck parts, believed to be from the Hydocker, joined together, and multiple cockpits.

Dragonfly 2

Featured in the February 1985 issue of the magazine, Shogaku San-nensei [128]. This is a dragonfly-type unit that was a custom build, mixing parts from a Red Horn for the body and a common cockpit from early Republic small Zoids like the Glidoler. In Zoid Battle Story, it can be seen flying alongside an Albatross [129] [note 22].
