Armament & Equipment
- Beam Horn :: Located on the horns of the unit, functioning as beam cannons, primarily used in close combat.
- Twin Gun Launcher :: Mounted on the abdomen.
- Quad Rapid-Fire Cannon :: Mounted on the back.
- Heavy Cannons :: Also mounted on the back; long-range weapons.
- Jamming Tail :: The tail section of the Zoid, capable of emitting disruptive jamming signals.
The Cannon Fort requires two operators (a pilot and a gunner), who split driving and firing duties.
Kit
It uses the large wind-up motor known as the Hi-Power Unit as its power source, and walks with a simple four-legged walking gimmick where only the hooves are free joints. It is the last wind-up driven Zoid of the old series. As a linked gimmick, the heavy attack gun turret on its back (corresponding to the shoulder area of the real animal) rotates about 25 degrees to the left and right, while the barrels of the left and right heavy attack guns elevate alternately. The manual gimmicks include opening and closing the cockpit hatch (located at the head, hinged at the rear), opening and closing the mouth, raising and lowering the head, and rotating the weapons. RHI-12 Cannon Fort Released April 1988. GZ-002 Cannon Fort Released March 31, 2005. Z-POINT is 10. It did not appear in the main anime series. Compared with the RHI-12, its coloring is different: the armor changed from blue to dark green, the horns and hooves from gray to gunmetal, and the stickers were replaced with original ones. Other differences include the joint caps being the same red type used on Zoids such as the Gun Sniper, and the pilot figure being reduced to a single piece.
Appearances in the Story
It was first deployed in actual combat during the First Dark Continent Landing Operation in ZAC 2051, but two units were simultaneously pierced by the Dark Horn’s Hybrid Vulcan Cannon [69]. In ZAC 2052, units under the command of Shū carried out reconnaissance missions on the Dark Continent [70]. In ZAC 2053, Major Rogers led a Cannon Fort unit stationed at a Republic forward base on the Dark Continent, but they were annihilated when attacked by a high-speed unit centered around the Zeke Dobel and Gal Tiger, together with the Gil Vader [71]. In October ZAC 2101, participation in combat on the Nyx Continent was confirmed [72][Note 11].
